I grew up in Ohio, used to the cold winters and not thinking much about how horrible they were. After graduating from college I stumbled across a singer named Jimmy Buffett, and learned a few of his songs. Then started to listen to more. Little did I know that his song catalogue and lifestyle mindset would change the trajectory of my life-in a big way. I became a Stock Broker in the fabulous '80s with the intent of living out a Jimmy Buffett lifestyle on a beach someday. Although we never worked together, I consider Jimmy a mentor of mine as the more I came to know him, the more I emulated him. I'm not a singer or guitar player, but know a lot about finance, and as my life progressed I realized I would not have been happy sitting on a beach listening to Buffett tunes every day forever, nor would Jimmy. Then along came "Don't Stop The Carnival", and "making folks happy, that's what I'll do!."

I bought a beach bar in Costa Rica, lived out the Norman Paperman story, before and after have run and owned several investment firms, produced a couple of movies, appeared on House Hunters International, was profiled in Parrotheads the movie, and hung out with JB here and there a few times, while attending 256 JB concerts. There's always a few more irons in the fire and surprises going forward as my mentor had as well, but I am living out the REAL Jimmy Buffett lifestyle-serial entrepreneur with a beach and margarita on the side.

There's still so much to be done...and I'm not ready to put the book on the shelf!
