We all know that Jimmy was very supportive of his community and his good works were noticed throughout his lifetime. When the Towns Around Biloxi Parrot Head Club gets a call to support a civic adventure, we jump into action.
Amtrak announced a new route from Mobile, Alabama to New Orleans, Louisiana named the Mardi Gras Line. The first date was established and the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce contacted our club to see if we would be open to meeting the dignitaries at the train stop in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Most Parrot Head phans recognize that as the birthplace of Jimmy Buffett as well as one of his great hits, The Pascagoula Run.
Our Club showed up in force and as the VIPs stepped out of the train, they were greeted with a presentation of a Hawaiian Lei from several people in tropical attire and big smiles. Of the five stops on the route, the VIPs acknowledged that they enjoyed the Pascagoula stop the most and we believe we may have had a small part in that!
